May 2024
When we moved into our home a few years ago, there was one tree in the backyard that always caught my attention. Unlike all the other trees around it, it never bloomed. Its branches looked weak, its appearance unhealthy, and it seemed to be slowly fading away. Even our neighbor remarked that the tree was almost dead and should probably be cut down.
In November 2023, we were blessed to host Maharaj's satsang at our home. The atmosphere was filled with divine vibrations, Guruji's blessings, and the joy of sangat. After the satsang concluded, some chai prashad remained. We all tried our best to finish it, understanding the immense importance of Guruji's Maha Prashad, but there was still a small bowl left.
As I stood there wondering what to do with it, a thought arose within me so naturally that it felt more like an inspiration than a thought. My eyes fell upon that struggling tree in the backyard. Without hesitation, I carried the remaining prashad to the tree and poured it gently at its roots. With complete faith, I said to the tree, "My Guruji will heal you. This is His Prashad."
I did not think about it again. There was no expectation, no waiting for a result. The moment passed, and life moved on. Then spring arrived.
To our amazement, the very tree that had shown no signs of life began to bloom. Not only did it bloom, but it flourished in a way none of us had seen before! Fresh green leaves covered its branches. New growth emerged from places that had once looked lifeless—even from its trunk! The tree that once stood apart because of its weakness now stood apart because of its beauty and vitality.
Each year since then, it has continued to bloom more abundantly than the year before.
For me, this was not merely the story of a tree becoming healthy. It was Guruji's way of teaching a deeper spiritual truth.
This experience is not a message that everyone should offer prashad to trees expecting miracles. Rather, it was a deeply personal lesson from Guruji about the power of His Maha Prashad and the transformative force of faith.
The tree became a reflection of our own spiritual journey. Sometimes, like that tree, we may feel dry, burdened, disconnected, or unable to blossom despite our best efforts. Outwardly, we may appear alive, yet inwardly we may feel depleted. But when Guruji's grace touches our lives, even the parts of us that seem lifeless can awaken again.
Just as that tree received Guruji's Prashad at its roots and began to flourish, our souls too are nourished when we receive Guruji's blessings with faith, humility, and gratitude. What appears impossible to the human mind becomes possible through divine grace.
Over time, we lovingly gave this tree a name: "Blessings" because every time we looked at it, we were reminded of the countless blessings Guruji showers upon us and the grace that transformed what once seemed beyond hope. Today, whenever I look at that tree, I do not merely see leaves and branches. I see a living reminder of Guruji's compassion. I see a message that no soul is beyond renewal, no heart is beyond healing, and no life is beyond the reach of divine grace. The tree continues to bloom, and with every new leaf, it seems to whisper the same lesson:
When faith meets Guruji's grace, even what appears beyond hope can flourish once again!
