A Birthday Gift Signed by Guruji

सो सतगुरु प्यारा मेरे नाल है,

जिथे किथे मैनु लै छडाई |

February 2025 A week before my birthday, I attended a satsang near my home. As always, my heart felt peaceful after the satsang, and I began my journey back home. Little did I know that Guruji had already planned a very special birthday gift for me.

While returning, I happened to check my phone and noticed a text message from an unknown number. The message began with "Jai Guruji," so I knew it was from a member of the sangat. The aunty introduced herself and explained that her daughter was coming to the city where I live to attend a conference. She was traveling from another country and would be alone in a new place. Aunty asked if I could guide her about the city and possibly pick her up from the airport.

Without hesitation, I replied, "Yes."

Something about the message felt different. It didn't feel like a random request. It felt like Guruji's hukum. When I spoke with the aunty over the phone, she gave me all the details of her daughter's visit. Out of curiosity, I asked how she had gotten my number. She mentioned another aunty's name, but to this day, I have no idea who that person is. I had never met her and still do not know the connection.

At that moment, I stopped trying to understand the logistics behind it. Some things are arranged by Guruji in ways that the mind cannot fully comprehend. As the conversation continued, I realized something interesting. Her daughter would be arriving on my birthday. For days, I had been debating whether I should take the day off from work for my birthday. I was unsure. But after this conversation, the decision became easy. If Guruji had sent seva my way, then surely there was a reason. I decided to take the day off.

Every year on my birthday, I make the same prayer to Guruji: "Please make my birthday special." I had no idea how beautifully He was about to answer that prayer.

On my birthday morning, we drove to the airport to pick up the aunty's daughter. After welcoming her, we began talking, and immediately there was a sense of familiarity and comfort, as if Guruji Himself had orchestrated the meeting. Before heading to the university, we decided to stop for a coffee and spend some time talking and sharing Maharaj's satsang.

As we sat together, our conversation flowed effortlessly. We spoke about Guruji, faith, and her experiences. During our conversation, we discovered something remarkable.

A few years earlier, I had attended the very same prestigious conference that she was visiting for. Suddenly, I wasn't just helping someone unfamiliar with the city. I was able to guide her about the conference, the university campus, the surroundings, and many practical details that could help her during her stay. It felt as though Guruji had chosen the perfect person for me to help.

Then came an even bigger surprise.

During our conversation, she casually mentioned that she had seen & spent time with Guruji in His physical form when she was younger. I was speechless. My jaw literally dropped. Here I was, on my birthday, sitting across from someone who had actually been blessed with Guruji's physical darshan. My heart filled with emotion.

Out of all the people Guruji could have sent into my life on that day, He sent someone carrying memories of His physical presence. It felt as though Guruji was saying, "You asked Me to make your birthday special. Look who I have sent to spend it with you."

For me, that alone would have made the day unforgettable. She ordered a coffee, and I initially planned to do the same. Then, for reasons I still cannot explain, I suddenly changed my mind and ordered a tomato soup instead which had a separate intake line. It seemed like a completely ordinary decision. Or so I thought.

The waiter informed me that the soup would be brought directly to our table. A few minutes later, it arrived on a tray along with the receipt. Normally, I would never pay attention to a receipt. But for some reason, that day I picked it up and looked at it carefully. What I saw brought tears to my eyes.

The name of the server printed on the receipt was: "Blessing."

I stared at it.

Again, and again.

Blessing.

Of all the names in the world.

Of all the receipts.

On all the days.

On my birthday.

While sitting with someone who had received Guruji's physical darshan.

While sharing Guruji' satsangs. The server's name was Blessing. In that moment, I felt as though Guruji had signed the entire experience Himself.

It was as if He was saying:

"Yes, this meeting is My blessing."

"Yes, this seva is My blessing."

"Yes, this birthday is My blessing."

"Yes, this satsang you are sharing together is My blessing."

Tears filled my eyes. The message was so personal, so precise, and so unexpected that I could not dismiss it as mere coincidence.

The entire day suddenly felt connected.

A text message from an unknown number.

A request for seva.

A sangat arriving from another country on my birthday.

A conference I had attended years earlier.

A devotee who had seen Guruji in physical form.

A spontaneous decision to order soup instead of coffee.

And finally, a receipt carrying a single word:

"Blessing."

What appeared to be unrelated events became, for me, a beautiful reminder that Guruji's grace often reveals itself through the smallest details. That receipt remains one of my most treasured possessions. It is priceless.

Whenever I look at it, I am reminded that Guruji hears even the smallest prayers. I had simply asked Him to make my birthday special. He transformed it into a day of seva, sangat, unexpected connection, memories of His physical darshan, and a message that touched my heart forever.

Shukrana Guruji Maharaj for blessing me with this divine experience and yet again revealing that You are always around your sangat. And that experience remains one of the greatest blessings of my life.
