The beginning of my journey

I had moved to the States in the year 2012 for my higher studies. At that time, I used to visit Delhi at least once a year, sometimes twice too within a year. On one such trip back home - my father mentioned about Guruji Maharaj to me and told me about His serene experience of visiting Bade Mandir. Upon asking him about how he found out about Guruji, he told me that it was my dear grandmother who introduced Guruji to him. My grandmother then insisted that I must visit the Bade Mandir with her at least once before leaving for Boston. I was quite reluctant but then finally I decided to go out of respect.

My first experience of visiting Bade Mandir was not an extraordinary one. Perhaps I was not ready for such exposure to divinity at that time in my life. I simply visited the temple and considered it just like any other temple. What surprised me, even more, was that the beautiful throne did not have anyone sitting on it. I then learned that Guruji had left His physical form in the year 2007. Anyhow, I went back to Boston and my parents provided me with Guruji's Maharaj's swaroop and a framed picture of His lotus feet.

As told by my parents, I placed Guruji's swaroop and the picture of His lotus feet along with the pictures of other deities in my bedroom. Life continued and I did not develop any deep connection with Guruji Maharaj. Since childhood, I used to pray to Lord Shiva as well as Lord Rama and I continued to do that in my daily life.

In the following years, certain events happened in my life which led me to believe about divine intervention in my life. Slowly but steadily I was drawn towards the Divine Light of Guruji Maharaj. But we really don't know since when are we connected to the Maharaj. Only He knows the answer to this question. During my childhood, I used to get many dreams in which I used to see a lot of snakes around me and my parents would always take me to Shiva Temple to seek His blessings. That's when my connection with Lord Shiva had started to develop.

In the following posts, I have shared some of my personal experiences wherein how our Guruji Maharaj has made me felt His divine presence.
